Ways to Give

Gifts of any size go a long way at Santiago Canyon College and there are many ways to give.
All deductions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of state and federal law.

One-time Gifts

The Santiago Canyon College Foundation accepts donations in cash, by checks, or credit card (online or by phone). Checks should be made payable to the SCC Foundation and mailed to the Foundation office at 8045 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange, CA 92869-4512. We also accept financial instruments (stocks, bond, mutual funds), gifts-in-kind (e.g. lab equipment, education supplies) and certain tangible personal assets such as antiques or works of art.

If you are interested in donating financial instruments such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds or tangible items, please call our team at (714) 628-4790 or email foundation@sccollege.edu.

Recurring Gifts

If you would like to provide sustained support to a favorite Program or Scholarship at SCC, you can sign up to have a specific amount automatically deducted monthly from a bank account or charged to a credit card.

To set up a recurring gift, click here and follow the prompts.

Gifts Of Stock, Bonds, Mutual Funds

Do you want to sell a stock, bond or mutual fund that has appreciated in value, but do not want to pay the capital gains taxes on the appreciated value of the asset? Think about donating it to the SCC Foundation.  By doing so, you get the satisfaction of supporting our students, a really nice tax deduction and no capital gains taxes.

Pledges

If you would like to make a larger donation to support an area of interest to you, but prefer to spread out the payments, you can make a pledge and we can set up a convenient payment plan.

Annual Named Scholarships

With a pledge of $500 or more a year for five years, you can fund a scholarship and name it after a loved one, your company, your family or yourself.  You can also designate criteria for your scholarship (subject to state and federal legal restrictions). Examples of scholarships that can be created include scholarships for veterans, specific academic majors like art or mathematics, transfer students or students with particular professional goals.

For general information about giving to scholarships, click here. For more information about setting up a named scholarship, contact us.

Endowments for Programs or Scholarships

With a pledge of $15,000 or more, you can establish an endowment and leave a lasting legacy of support for an area of personal interest to you. The funds you donate are invested responsibly so that they last in perpetuity, while some or all of the annual earnings from the endowment supports a program or scholarship.  As with annual named scholarships, you determine the name of the endowment fund, as well as criteria that reflect your values or interests.

Matching Gifts

Many companies will match the gifts their employees make to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. If you would like to make a gift to Santiago Canyon College through the SCC Foundation, but don’t know if your company matches gifts, we can help you find out.

Faculty and Staff Payroll Deductions

Through payroll deductions, Santiago Canyon College faculty and staff have a convenient way to support SCC scholarships or other programs of their choice.

To get started, click here, fill out and sign the form and return it to our support staff in Room A-213.
